Our clinic’s Medical Director. His interest soon turned towards orthodontics, and a few years after graduating he fully specialized in this field of dentistry. Over the past three decades, his extensive experience combined with his compassionate care has been proven by the smiles of thousands of satisfied patients.
Professional Biography
For eight years, he studied, worked, and conducted research in orthodontics at the University of Hamburg (Germany) under the guidance of one of the most renowned authorities in the field, Prof. Asbjorn Hasund. He put this knowledge into practice by establishing a
high-standard Orthodontic Studio and by providing professional training courses.
Dr. Péter Borbély is the
inventor of the laser digitizer used in orthodontic diagnostics, which is now applied worldwide. He is a
founding member of the Hungarian Orthodontic Society. He is a
co-organizer of the annual IOS international conference in Prague. He serves as a
visiting professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (USA) and at the University of Debrecen. He is also a guest lecturer at several Hungarian universities.
On a monthly basis, he conducts half-day
training sessions entitled “Orthodontics in a Nutshell.” For three years, he was the publisher of “Kieferorthopädische Mitteilungen” (Orthodontic Bulletin), a journal read in 36 countries. For two years, he was the
editor-in-chief of the Hungarian professional journal “Orthodontics.” He is the author of numerous
scientific articles and of the professional book “Straight-Wire Technique.” He is co-author of the book “3D Imaging for Orthodontics” and of the
most recent university textbook in the field.
In his free time, he enjoys sports and sculpting, but most of all he loves relaxing with his family: he is the father of four adult children and the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren.
