Invisible Orthodontics

Many patients hesitate to begin orthodontic treatment because they don’t want to wear visible, fixed braces. While this is becoming less of a deterrent—especially since aesthetic versions of fixed appliances are now available—even these can still be noticeable when smiling, and they make eating and cleaning teeth more difficult. For these reasons, so-called “aligner” treatments have become increasingly popular. These are also referred to as invisible braces, Invisalign, or clear aligner therapy.

The essence of aligner treatment is that, based on a mold of the patient’s teeth, we use digital technology to create thin, fully transparent trays that fit precisely over the teeth. Clear aligner therapy is suitable for adults and even children. The trays apply force at specific points, gradually moving the teeth during wear. A new tray is typically introduced every two weeks (which is why we provide several at once), each continuing the movement in the desired direction. To be effective, the aligners must be worn for 22 hours a day, but they should be removed for brushing and eating.

These invisible braces are truly noticeable only to trained eyes—their appearance is so discreet that they’re barely visible when smiling or in photos. Another major advantage is that they aren’t worn during brushing (nor should they be), allowing patients to maintain their usual oral hygiene routine without needing to learn new tools or carry extra items throughout the day. Despite its many advantages, clear aligner therapy has certain clinical limitations. We typically recommend it in cases where minor tooth corrections are needed—usually for aesthetic reasons. These may include crowding, spacing between teeth, or protruding teeth. For more significant positional irregularities, bite problems, or jaw development issues, fixed braces offer a more effective solution.

At the Dr. Borbély Orthodontic Studio, our goal is to make the transformation brought by our treatments accessible to as many people as possible. A liberated smile shouldn’t be a matter of money! That’s why we offer our services with unusually low monthly installment options.

During the first year of treatment, the monthly payment ranges between HUF 90,000 and 130,000—this includes the cost of the appliance and its adjustments. Following that, each visit entails a fee of HUF 45,000. For simpler treatments, the total costs may be even lower. After planning your treatment, we provide a detailed quote so that your expenses are easy to anticipate and manage.
