Although many dental issues can be addressed in adulthood, it’s especially important for parents of young children to know that starting treatment in childhood is often more effective and comfortable. During this time, there’s greater flexibility to influence jaw size, growth, and tooth eruption. This usually offers more treatment options for parents, children, and specialists alike.

Misalignments in tooth positioning can result from various factors, including harmful habits, genetic predispositions, or abnormal jaw development. Early intervention allows us to guide jaw development properly and monitor the progression through the baby teeth, mixed dentition phase, and permanent teeth eruption—all the way until jaw growth slows significantly (though it never stops entirely).

While these are all clinical considerations, it’s also essential to recognize how they affect our patients’ lives. Orthodontic or functional treatment during childhood—when growth is still ongoing—is often far less invasive than adult procedures, which require correcting an already established state. What’s more, children who undergo orthodontic care early often reach adulthood without lingering dental (or even confidence-related) issues, and don’t have to factor dental visits into their busy adult schedules.

We encourage parents to bring their children in for orthodontic evaluation between ages 8 and 10, so developing issues—such as crowding, spacing, protruding teeth, open bite, or deep bite—can be detected in their early stages. Beyond medical expertise, we take special care to ensure these visits are pleasant for children—so they feel comfortable in the dental chair now and in the future.

At the Dr. Borbély Orthodontic Studio, our goal is to make the transformation brought by our treatments accessible to as many people as possible. A liberated smile shouldn’t be a matter of money! That’s why we offer our services with unusually low monthly installment options. During the first year of treatment, the monthly payment ranges between HUF 90,000 and 130,000—this includes the cost of the appliance and its adjustments. Following that, each visit entails a fee of HUF 45,000. For simpler treatments, the total costs may be even lower. After planning your treatment, we provide a detailed quote so that your expenses are easy to anticipate and manage.
